NGC 7424 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Crane in the southern sky . It is an estimated 41 million light years from the Milky Way and about 115,000 light years in diameter.
The supernovae SN 2001ig (Type IIb) and SN 2017bzb (Type II) were observed here.
The object was discovered by John Herschel on September 5, 1834 .
