1990 NHL Awards
The 1990 NHL Awards are ice hockey honors of the National Hockey League and were presented in June 1990.
Mark Messier , Brett Hull and Patrick Roy were the most successful players at the awards with two awards each. The best defender Ray Bourque came very close to Messier in the Hart Memorial Trophy election and had to admit defeat by only two points. Sergei Makarov was one of the oldest rookies of all time at the age of 32 . The experienced Russian was able to prevail against the young Americans Mike Modano and Jeremy Roenick . After this season the rule was changed here and only players up to the age of 26 were allowed for the Calder Memorial Trophy .
