Jack Adams Award
The Jack Adams Award is an ice hockey trophy. It is awarded annually to the coach in the National Hockey League who has contributed most to the success of his team. The winner will be awarded based on a poll conducted by the National Hockey League Broadcasters' Association at the end of the regular season.
The trophy was named after Jack Adams , the former trainer and manager of the Detroit Red Wings .
The honor was first awarded in 1974. So far, six coaches have won the trophy with different teams: Pat Burns (1989 - Montréal Canadiens , 1993 - Toronto Maple Leafs and 1998 - Boston Bruins ), Jacques Lemaire (1994 - New Jersey Devils and 2003 - Minnesota Wild ), Pat Quinn (1980 - Philadelphia Flyers and 1992 - Vancouver Canucks ), Scotty Bowman (1977 - Montréal Canadiens and 1996 - Detroit Red Wings ), John Tortorella (2004 - Tampa Bay Lightning and 2017 - Columbus Blue Jackets ) and Barry Spy (2016 - Washington Capitals and 2019 - New York Islanders ).
