2001 NHL Awards
The 2001 NHL Awards are ice hockey honors and were presented in Toronto in June 2001 .
The big winner of the NHL Awards was Colorado's Joe Sakic . A few days earlier he had already won the Stanley Cup with his team , and now he has received the trophies as the best player and MVP of the season. There were also prizes for his fair game and the best plus / minus statistics. Nicklas Lidström was named best defender for the first time and Jaromír Jágr was named best scorer for the fourth time in a row. Goalie Dominik Hašek received the trophy for the fewest goals conceded and was honored as the best goalkeeper in the league for the sixth time.
