NHL Awards
The NHL Awards are trophies of the National Hockey League (NHL). There are trophies for the teams, which are presented after decisive games, and individual trophies, which are awarded to players and other NHL participants at an awards ceremony after a season. The original trophies are kept in the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto and can be viewed by visitors during opening hours.
The most important team trophy is the Stanley Cup , which has been awarded since 1893 and has honored the winner of the play-offs in the NHL since 1927.
There are currently 15 different individual trophies that are awarded annually to a player in the NHL. In addition, the best coach ( Jack Adams Award ) and the best general manager ( NHL General Manager of the Year Award ) are honored at the end of each season. The oldest player trophy in the NHL Awards is the Hart Memorial Trophy , which dates back to 1924.

The award ceremony
During the award ceremony, the original trophies cannot always be presented on stage, as some are too big. After the gala, however, the winners can have their photos taken with the originals. The original trophies will remain in permanent possession of the Hockey Hall of Fame, but award winners will receive a smaller duplicate to keep. The names of the winners will be engraved on the original trophies.
Only the Conn Smythe Trophy for the most valuable player in the play-offs will not be presented at the award ceremony, but after the final Stanley Cup final .
