history
Nesse was originally laid out as a street village. The village was parish in the parish of Loxstedt and belonged to the Stotel office around 1768 and later to the Stotel-Vieland and Lehe offices. Then there were the Geestemünde and Wesermünde districts . During the French period, Nesse was part of the Stotel commune. The place used to be a place of jurisdiction and became a rural parish in 1840. In 1876 the district of the same name was formed. From 1971 to 1974 Nesse was a member of the Loxstedt joint municipality . However, this had to be converted into a new unified municipality during the regional reform in Lower Saxony , which came into force on March 1, 1974. Since then, Nesse has been part of the Loxstedt unified community and has a mayor.
The village is known as the location of the spice mill of the same name. In the past there were also brickworks that settled on the Lune near Fleeste .

coat of arms
The design of the municipal coat of arms of Nesse comes from the heraldist and coat of arms painter Albert de Badrihaye , who designed around 80 coats of arms in the district of Cuxhaven.
Blazon : "In silver on a green shield base a green linden tree , on the right and left side with three red bricks stacked on top of one another(1: 2)." | |
Justification of the coat of arms: The linden tree refers to the name “Lindenesse”, a transformation of the place name “Liudenesla”, documented in 1105, which Johann Martin Lappenberg referred to Nesse. The bricks are reminiscent of the earlier brickworks in the municipality. |
