New admissions to the UNESCO cultural and natural heritage in 1980
In 1980 the following new admissions to the UNESCO cultural and natural heritage took place:
World heritage
At its fourth meeting from September 1 to 5, 1980 in Paris , France , the World Heritage Committee added 28 sites from 18 countries to the UNESCO World Heritage List, including 21 cultural (K) and seven natural (N) sites.
For the first time, a cross-border World Heritage site was designated and another was placed on the Red List of World Heritage in Danger (R) .
