New inclusions in the UNESCO cultural and natural heritage 2018
In 2018, the new entries listed below in chronological order took place in the UNESCO cultural and natural heritage . In addition to the new entries, changes and deletions are also listed.
Global Geoparks
On April 17, 2018, the UNESCO Executive Council named 13 geological sites, which the UNESCO Global Geoparks Council had selected at its second meeting in September 2017, as UNESCO Global Geoparks and thus included them in the Global Geoparks Network .

World heritage sites
World Heritage List
For the 42nd meeting of the World Heritage Committee from June 24 to July 4, 2018 in Manama , Bahrain , 29 sites were nominated for inclusion in UNESCO World Heritage , including 22 cultural sites, five natural sites and three mixed sites. In addition, one site was nominated for significant changes to its boundaries, and another was proposed for removal from the World Heritage List. During the meeting, 19 sites were newly added to the World Heritage List, including thirteen cultural heritage sites (K), three natural heritage sites (N) and three mixed sites (K / N).

- Age of Commerce: Old City of Jakarta ( Batavia ) and the four offshore islands Onrust , Kelor , Cipir and Bidadari (K, Indonesia)
- Arasbaran Conservation Area (N, Iran)
- Prosecco hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene (K, Italy)
- Mining cultural landscape Roșia Montană (K, Romania)
- Žatec - the hop city (K, Czech Republic)
- Khor Dubai, a traditional trading port (K, United Arab Emirates)
The following nominations had already been withdrawn before the meeting:
- Jewish cemetery Hamburg-Altona (K, Germany)
- Amami-Ōshima, Tokunoshima, the northern part of Okinawa Hontō and the Iriomote Island (N, Japan)
- Tr'ondëk-Klondike (K, Canada)
Red List
Three sites were proposed for inclusion in the Red List of World Heritage in Danger, one for deletion. Only one of the proposed sites was then actually put on the red list, the deletion took place as proposed.

Biosphere reserves
On July 25, 2018, the International Council of the UNESCO Program “Man and the Biosphere” (MAB) recognized 24 new biosphere reserves and 2 existing reserves were expanded. 7 UNESCO biosphere reserves have been removed from the global network.
