Nieky "The Natural" Holzken (born December 16, 1983 in Helmond ) is a Dutch muay thai / kickboxer and boxer who fights for the Golden Glory Gym in Breda , the Netherlands . He is two-time European champion in Muay Thai, winner of the K1 MAX tournament in Scandinavia in 2006 and Glory Welterweight Champion 2013.

Career

Nieky Holzken made his K-1 debut on November 26, 2006 at the K1 World MAX North Europe Qualifying Tournament in Stockholm , Sweden . He won the tournament with 3 consecutive KO wins over Björn Kjöllerström, Joakim Karlsson and Elias Daniel. With the victory he qualified for the K1 World MAX Grand Prix 2007, where he beat the eventual winner Buakaw Por. Pramuk lost on points.

He made his debut in the Glory World Series on May 26, 2012 at the Glory 1: Stockholm Event. Here he fought against Alex Tobiasson Harris, whom he defeated in the second round via TKO.

He celebrated his greatest success on December 21, 2013 at Glory 13: Tokyo. Here he was able to secure the Glory welterweight title after a points victory over Karapet Karapetyan in the semifinals and a KO victory in the final over Joseph Valtellini. Since he did not fight for most of 2014 due to an injury, his title became vacant. On August 7, 2015, he was able to win the title again. He defeated the American Raymond Daniels at Glory 23 in Las Vegas. The match was ended in the 3rd round by the referee after Daniels suffered a laceration over his left eye.

Holzken is also considered the kickboxer with the best boxing skills, which is also reflected in his professional career.

Boxing

He made his debut in professional boxing on March 3, 2013 and won by knockout in the second round against the Ukrainian-born Anatolij Baron. In February 2016 he won the Benelux championship title in the super middleweight division unanimously against Farouk Daku and defended it unanimously against Matingu Kindele in July 2016.

In February 2018, he defeated the Russian Viktor Polyakov early in the second round. Polyakow was an Olympian in 2004 and had defeated Giovanni de Carolis in the fight for the WBA international title in July 2017 . Due to his previous successes, he replaced the sick Jürgen Brähmer in the semifinals of the World Boxing Super Series in February 2018 , but lost there unanimously on points to Callum Smith .

In April 2018 he defeated Bernard Donfack early in the third round.
