Nora
Nora ( pronounced N o ra ) is a female given name and is used as a short form of Eleonore / Eleonora or the Irish name Honora (from Latin honor = "honor"). According to the Duden from 1913, the name is also a modern form of Norberta ("the shiny one from the north").
The name became known through Henrik Ibsen's play " Et dukkehjem " (in German actually: "A doll's house", but usually: " Nora or a doll's house ") from 1879.
