Norbert Zeilberger

Norbert Zeilberger (born August 1, 1969 in Brunnenthal ; † August 17, 2012 in Trogen AR ) was an Austrian organist , harpsichordist and pianist .

Live and act

Norbert Zeilberger, born in Brunnenthal near Schärding , studied organ with August Humer at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz . From 1989 he continued his studies at the Musikhochschule Wien with the subjects church music and organ with Alfred Mitterhofer and harpsichord with Wolfgang Glüxam and Gordon Murray . He completed his studies with distinction and honors from the Federal Minister .

Zeilberger has designed numerous concerts and recordings, among others with the early music ensembles Ars Antiqua Austria , Accentus Austria , moderntimes_1800 , Armonico tributo Austria (led by Lorenz Duftschmid ) and the choir and orchestra of the JS Bach Foundation (led by Rudolf Lutz ).

His preoccupation with the Viennese fortepiano was also reflected in his extensive collection of historical Viennese grand pianos from the early days of piano making until well into the Romantic era .

Norbert Zeilberger taught at the Bruckner Conservatory from 1994 (from 2004 Anton Bruckner Private University ) in Linz. and from 2000 at the Vienna Conservatory . From 1994 to 2006 he worked as an organist in the evangelical parish AB Wien-Hietzing.

On August 17, 2012, Norbert Zeilberger died in an accident. He was buried in Schardenberg on August 27, 2012 . In November 2012, a memorial service was held in his honor in the old cathedral in Linz and a memorial concert in the Martin Luther Church in Linz .
