At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1929 in Zakopane , Poland , a competition in Nordic combined was held.
The combined cross-country race over 18 km was held as part of the special cross-country race on February 8th on the slopes around the city of Zakopane and saw the Finn Esko Järvinen as the winner ahead of the two Norwegians Hans Vinjarengen and Ole Stenen . The combined jump took place on February 9th at Wielka Krokiew , with Vinjarengen taking the lead with jumps over 40 and 44 meters.

Annotation:
- Some sources give Walter Hain's time as 1: 33: 48.0 hours. However, this cannot be reconciled with its jump points, total points, or final position.
- Friedrich Lexen is listed with 127.50 points from the cross-country skiing and 95.50 points from the jumping competition. This would add up to a total of 223.40 points. His total points are given in all sources as 218.40. This is likely due to a transmission error.
