North Brooksville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hernando County in the US state of Florida with 3544 inhabitants (as of 2010).

North Brooksville borders directly on the city of Brooksville to the south and is approximately 70 km north of Tampa . The CDP is crossed or affected by the US Highways 41 and 98 and the Florida State Road 50A .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 3544 inhabitants were distributed over 1795 households. The population density was 492.2 inh / km². 91.1% of the population identified themselves as whites, 6.2% as African-Americans , 0.4% as Indians and 0.4% as Asian Americans . 0.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.4% to several ethnic groups. 4.7% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 and 32.4% of all households lived in 29.1% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 65.7% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.45 people and the average family size was 2.95 people.

23.8% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 19.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 29.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 27.0% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 45 years. 47.7% of the population were male and 52.3% were female.
