Ridge Manor is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hernando County in the US state of Florida with 4513 inhabitants (as of 2010).

The Withlacoochee River flows through the village . Ridge Manor is located about 20 km east of Brooksville and about 70 km north of Tampa . The CDP is crossed by US Highways 98 and 301 ( SR 35 ) and Florida State Road 50 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 4513 inhabitants were distributed over 2267 households. The population density was 199.7 inh / km². 93.4% of the population identified themselves as white, 2.3% as African-American , 0.5% as Native American and 0.1% as Asian Americans . 2.0% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.7% to several ethnic groups. 6.7% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 and 37.6% of all households lived in 24.5% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 67.6% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.41 people and the average family size was 2.86 people.

21.9% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 19.2% were 20 to 39 years old, 29.4% were 40 to 59 years old, and 29.6% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 28 years. 54.9% of the population were male and 45.1% were female.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 95.92% of the population, 3.29% spoke Spanish and 0.79% spoke German .
