Location of the Nuku Hiva community
Nuku Hiva is a community in French Polynesia , in the archipelago of the Marquesas . It includes the island of Nuku Hiva and the smaller, northwest of it, uninhabited islands Eiao , Hatutu , Motu One and Motu Iti .
The municipality is divided into three sub-municipalities (with population figures as of 2007):
Taiohai (1927), southwest, main town, with the uninhabited islands of Eiao, Hatutu, Motu One and Motu Iti
Hatiheu (348), north
Taipivai (385), southeast
The municipality mark covers 387.8 km². The highest elevation reaches 1224 m. ü. M.
