Nursch is a village in the western Weinviertel in Lower Austria as well as a locality and cadastral municipality of the municipality of Großmugl in the Korneuburg district .
geography
The place is located about 35 kilometers northwest of the city center of Vienna , and 15 km east of Hollabrunn and 5 km northeast of Großmugl. It lies at around 260 m above sea level. A. Height on the southern slopes of the Leiser Berge between Altenberg ( 355 m above sea level ) and Wunderberg ( 326 m above sea level ) to the north and Hahnberg ( 312 m above sea level ) to the south.
The village has around 60 buildings with around 120 inhabitants. The total area of the cadastral community is 398 hectares .
The place extends along today's state road L 27 (section L 25 in Großmugl via Herzogbirbaum - Nursch - Merkersdorf to Mistelbacher Straße B 40 next Ernstbrunn).

history
Nursch is mentioned for the first time in 1294 on the occasion of the parish elevation of Herzogbirbaum.
Culture and sights
- Local chapel of St. Rochus : simple small church built in the first half of the 19th century; is subordinate to the parish Herzogbirbaum
In 2009, Großmugl declared itself a starlight oasis in the sense of the UNESCO Convention as the “ right to starlight ”. The entire municipality operates active protection against light pollution .
In the Austrian cult television series " MA 2412 " one of the protagonists, engineer Engelbert Breitfuß, names Nursch as his favorite holiday destination.
