The United Kingdom took part in the 1998 Winter Olympics in the Japanese Nagano as the UK with a delegation of 34 athletes in seven disciplines in part, of which 27 men and 7 women. The team in the four-man bobsleigh won the only medal with bronze.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the biathlete Michael Dixon .
