The Panorama Park Sauerland Wildlife Park (until 2007 Panorama Park Sauerland called) at Rinsecke in North Rhine-Westphalia Olpe is a theme park in Rothaargebirge .
Geographical location
The amusement park is located in the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge nature park on the western roof of the Rothaargebirge main ridge in the Oberhundem district of the Kirchhundem community - about 6 km (as the crow flies ) east-southeast of its core town. Around the Eggenkopf ( 649 m above sea level ) it spreads south of Kreisstraße 22 ( Rinsecker Straße ), which leads from the district of Rinsecke past the park entrance to Landesstraße 553 in the east. The latter connects winding Oberhundem in the northwest with Rüspe (both to Kirchhundem) in the southeast and then further to the southeast with Röspe (to Erndtebrück ) in the valley of the Eder .
The park is between 545.8 m (at the northwest corner of the park near its entrance on the K 22) and 647.3 m (Eggenkopf summit in the south) in height. A section of the Rhine-Weser watershed runs through the park as part of the Eggenkopf . The Rinsecke and Lütke Rinsecke arise in the park as small, south-eastern tributaries of the Hundem . A little southeast past the park, the Rothaarsteig runs along the Röspe (mostly also called Schwarzbach ) and 1.75 km (as the crow flies ) east-northeast of its entrance is the Rhein-Weser-Turm observation tower , which can be reached from the park via the K 22 and L 553 .
history
General
The amusement park was founded on April 1st, 1963 by the Schulte-Wrede family. By 2007 it had grown to 800,000 m² and had more than 40 attractions.
From 2003 to 2007 the park belonged to the French company Grévin & Cie and was thus a partner park of Fort Fun Adventure Land .
In January 2008, Grévin announced that the park had been sold to Henkel owned by the local entrepreneur Siegfried Hamm. Henkel wants to continue the park as a wildlife park , while the permanent employees of the park continue to work at Fort Fun Adventure Land.
With the exception of the Fichtenflitzer summer toboggan run and the chairlift, all of Grévin's rides were dismantled and either scrapped or rebuilt in other parks in the group. Some attractions were sold to parks outside the group. For example, the Ferris wheel went to the Geiselwind leisure center in Bavaria. A new old-timer Kettcarbahn, a giant trampoline system and a mega jumping cushion as well as the funhouse and the indoor play oasis were built. The park was reopened on May 1st, 2008 as the “Panorama Park Sauerland Wildlife Park”.
Wildlife park chronicle
There have been animal enclosures in the mountain area since the park was founded. Red deer , fallow deer , mouflons and wild boars have been kept in the wildlife park since the beginning . Later, American bison , otters , lynx and other species of mammals and birds added. In the busy years from 1992 to 1998 there was a game express for a tour through the game park. A wildlife and forest nature trail has also been created. In 2008, an enclosure for wolves was opened and a falconer demonstrated various species of birds of prey in free flight at a bird of prey show . A mouse house was added in 2009 . A raccoon enclosure was opened in 2010 . 2011 a plant was added, the long-eared goats, Jacob sheep , Racka sheep and Ouessant sheep shows. The deer rut in October has been a special attraction since the wildlife park was founded.

Attractions outside the wildlife park until 2007
There was a wild water course , then called Wasserbob , with three runs. It was the only such system built by Mannesmann Demag Fördertechnik. Unlike most of the tracks, the boats were not designed as tree trunks, but as a bob. There was also a Rothaarblitz , a mine roller coaster , of the Blauer Enzian type from the Mack company , which was later set up in Europark in southern France, and a family roller coaster called Flinker Fridolin from the Zierer company, which was embedded in the site with two tunnels; the latter was later set up in BonBon land in Denmark. The Crazy Looop circular ride was 13 m high. There was also a kind of ship swing called Takka Balla Swing, which turned on itself again; this ride was later set up in Fort Fun Adventure Land. There was also the Formula Fun kart track and a ferris wheel that was later set up in the Geiselwind leisure area in Bavaria. There were also the rides Oldtimerbahn, Schneckenbahn, Tannenzapfen-Rundfahrt, Raft Carousel Wind Force 14 , Super Slide , Bumperboats (only until 2002), Steinpilz-Wellenflieger (since 2006 in the Avonturenpark Hellendoorn (Netherlands)), Trans-Mobil (only until 2006) and Splasch water catapult (2006–2008). There was also a 180 degree cinema (only until 2002) and an event hall Alter Markt (only until 2003).
In addition, until 2007 there were regular events in the Panorama Park. These were the Takka Balla summer evenings (initially called Summerfeelings ), the Magic Pirates Show (a magic show), the puppet theater and the Globus family day. Takka Balla street performers only took place in summer . The Witch's Autumn was held in October . On October 31st there was the family Halloween party .
Current attractions
Today there are some new attractions in the park outside the wildlife park. The main attraction is the Fichtenflitzer , a 1,600 m long summer toboggan run by the Josef Wiegand company . There are the rides Mega-Vulkan , Power Paddler , Fun-House , old-timer Kettcarbahn , various carousels and running shops . In the play area for the children there is a slide paradise, mega bouncy pillows, giant trampoline, climbing castles , indoor play areas, large playgrounds, adventure bridges over the wolf enclosure, Pano's Wonderland (castle backdrop with play equipment for children), unicycle track, softball Arena, crow's nest and beaver chapel.
The Panorama Express drives through the wildlife park and serves as a means of transport between the upper and lower park areas. The chairlift Panoramalift Kirchhundem also serves as a means of transport between the upper and lower parking areas .
The rhododendron blooms from May to June . As until 2007 there is a family Halloween party , which is held on the first weekend in October.
Others
A special feature of the Panorama-Park Sauerland Wildpark is the integration into nature and the division of the park into a valley and mountain area. Both parts of the park can be reached with a chair lift, a park train or on foot via the "Rhododendronallee".
The amusement park is also open on the weekends in winter and can be visited during this time at a reduced entrance fee. There are overnight accommodations in the Waldhotel zum Rothaarsteig near the park entrance .
