Paralympic history of Australia

The Paralympic history of Australia began in 1960 with the participation in the Summer Paralympics in the Italian capital Rome .

At that time, one athlete and eleven athletes started and won a total of ten medals, three gold, six silver and one bronze medal. Since then, the Australian team has taken part in all Summer Paralympics and, since 1980, in all Winter Paralympics .
