Pernegg is located in the Waldviertel in Lower Austria. The area of ​​the market town covers 36.6 square kilometers. About 43 percent of the area is forested.

history

The first written mention of the name Pernegg took place in 1112 in a chronicle of the St. Georgen monastery. In 1230 the place was granted market rights.

With the decision of the Lower Austrian provincial government of April 3, 2001, the municipality of Pernegg was awarded a municipal coat of arms. His blazon reads:

"In silver on the green ground on the right a green deciduous tree, the trunk of which is held by an upright black bear standing on the left side of the tree with its front paws."

The community colors are red-white-blue.

  • Bus: The PostBus bus company runs to stops on line 1304 ( Horn - Drosendorf ) in Pernegg and Posselsdorf and stops on line 1312 (Horn - Schweinburg) in Pernegg, Etzelsreith, Posselsdorf, Nödersdorf, Raisdorf and Staningersdorf.
