history

The school is named after Peter Joseph Lenné

One of the roots of the Peter Lenné School is the Royal Gardening College in Schöneberg and Potsdam , which was founded in 1823 by Lenné, who gave it its name.

On May 1st, 1903, the first compulsory commercial advanced training school in the then municipality of Zehlendorf began its lessons. 75 male apprentices and workers under the age of 18 received professional training in three classes.

After several moves, the school has been located at Hartmannsweilerweg 29 since 1955. In 1956, the name was given: Peter-Lenné-Schule, vocational school for gardeners and flower makers, vocational school for domestic economics. In 1969 it was renamed the 2nd secondary school and in 1971 the Peter Lenné School . From 1979 Oberstufenzentrum is in the name: Oberstufenzentrum Agrarwirtschaft, Fachoberschule, Berufsschule and Fachschule.

In 1989, Peter Lenné was named after the school again and since 1994 the official name has been Peter Lenné School, Upper School Center for Agriculture, Vocational School, Technical College, Vocational School and Technical School. The school has moved four times in its history and has 15 different names. In 2014 the school was renamed the Upper School Center for Nature and Environment .
