history

Spickendorf

The first mention of Spickendorf was in 1314 as "Spytendorp". The place was laid out as a round with eight courtyards in the middle of a swamp belt, which was surrounded by a 5-10 m wide moat. Spickendorf belonged to the Giebichenstein office in the hall circle of the Archbishopric of Magdeburg . In 1680 the Duchy of Magdeburg came under Brandenburg-Prussian rule.

With the Peace of Tilsit in 1807, Spickendorf was incorporated into the Kingdom of Westphalia and assigned to the Halle district in the Saale department. The place belonged to the canton of Oppin . After Napoleon's defeat and the end of the Kingdom of Westphalia, Napoleon's allied opponents liberated the Saalkreis in early October 1813. During the political reorganization after the Congress of Vienna in 1815, the place was attached to the administrative district of Merseburg in the Prussian province of Saxony and assigned to the Saalkreis.

Wölls-Petersdorf

The first mention of Wölls took place in 1156, that of Petersdorf in 1349/50. The places Piltitz and Zschiesdorf were counted to Wölls. Petersdorf and Wölls with Piltitz and Zieschdorf were until 1815 on the north-western edge of the electoral and royal Saxon authorities of Delitzsch .

As a result of the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna , they came to Prussia in 1815 and were assigned to the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the province of Saxony in 1816, to which they belonged until 1950. In 1888 Wölls and Petersdorf merged into Wölls-Petersdorf. On April 1, 1936, Gütz, Roitzschgen (with Düringsdorf and Heiligendorf) and Wölls-Petersdorf (with Piltitz and Zschiesdorf) merged to form the municipality of Gütz .

In the course of the first district reform in the GDR in 1950, Gütz and its districts such as the neighboring town of Landsberg were assigned to the newly tailored hall circle , which in 1952 became the new hall circle in the Halle district . At the same time as it was assigned to the Saalkreis, Gütz and its districts Roitzschgen, Düringsdorf, Heiligendorf and Piltitz were incorporated into Landsberg on July 1, 1950. The district Wölls-Petersdorf was reclassified with Zschiesdorf but without Piltitz to Spickendorf.

Incorporation to Landsberg

On January 1, 2005, Spickendorf was incorporated into the city of Landsberg and has since been one of eleven localities in the city.

The Petersdorfer villa of the former Fideikommiss estate Troitzsch was extensively renovated from 2006 to 2012. The listed building from 1896, which is called "Castle", has a rich facade decoration in the style of the neo-renaissance and a renaissance archway from the year 1891. The house is now a day-care center.
