Pierre-Luc Létourneau-Leblond (born June 4, 1985 in Lévis , Québec ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been playing the right winger for the Adirondack Thunder from the ECHL since December 2017 . Létourneau-Leblond embodies the Enforcer type of player .

Career

Pierre-Luc Létourneau-Leblond began his career as a hockey player with the Drakkar de Baie-Comeau , for which he was active from 2003 to 2005 in the Canadian junior league Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec . During this period, the attacker was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2004 in the seventh round as a total of 216 players by the New Jersey Devils from the National Hockey League .

Initially, however, he played until 2008 exclusively for their farm teams , the Albany River Rats and Lowell Devils in the American Hockey League , the Trenton Titans in the ECHL and the Adirondack Frostbite in the United Hockey League . In the 2008-09 season , the left-shot made his debut for New Jersey in the National Hockey League, in which he was an assist in eight games. As in the previous year , the Enforcer spent most of the season on the AHL farm team with the Lowell Devils. In the following season he was mainly used for the New Jersey Devils in the NHL, but had to suspend the game for a long time due to health problems. The 2010/11 season began Létourneau-Leblond in the NHL roster of the Devils, before he was sent to the Albany Devils in the AHL.

On July 14, 2011, the New Jersey Devils transferred him in exchange for a five-round suffrage in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft to the Calgary Flames , for which the Canadian completed three games in the 2011/12 season . Otherwise he was active for the Abbotsford Heat in the AHL. After the NHL lockout ended in January 2013, he was signed by the Anaheim Ducks , for which he did not appear and instead was on the ice for their AHL farm team, Norfolk Admirals . The Canadian started the 2013/14 game year with the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins , before signing a contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins in November 2013 to be eligible to play in the NHL.

After two years in the organization of the Penguins, in which he came to a single NHL assignment, his expiring contract was not renewed in the summer of 2015. As a result, the striker returned to the New Jersey Devils in September 2015, who used him exclusively with the Albany Devils in the AHL. His one-year contract was subsequently not renewed, so that he joined the Tampa Bay Lightning as a free agent in July 2016 . In the organization of the Lightning, the attacker was only used in the AHL at the Syracuse Crunch until he was given on loan to their farm team, the Toronto Marlies , in February 2017 as part of an exchange between Tampa Bay and the Toronto Maple Leafs . After Létourneau-Leblond had only played one game for the Marlies, they did not extend his expiring contract. After he had not found a new team by mid-August 2017, he initially announced the end of his active career at the age of 32. In December 2017, the striker returned from retirement and joined the Adirondack Thunder from the ECHL .
