A type of police operation is a way of responding to an event that requires the deployment of emergency services and is managed by a police operation . It is based on a police situation according to which an alarm is planned. The latter is a consequence of deployment concepts or a decision based on official or police regulations.

The range of types of use is extremely diverse; Examples for this are:

as well as all criminal and unlawful acts or disruptions to public safety ( averting danger ).

Some of the missions are carried out with emergency vehicles . Many of the types of operations can be enforced with immediate force . In Germany they can be carried out using special rights and rights of way , in Switzerland they have priority according to the VRV .

The emergency services communicate with one another on site and in advance in order to exchange information (situation, measures, coordination, etc.). Furthermore, there may be coordination with the operations manager and the control center . In order not to burden the operational channel with insignificant information, the on-site patrols usually communicate on the 2-meter tape .
