Popovica ( Cyrillic Поповица) is a village in the Opština Negotin , in the Bor district in eastern Serbia . The village lies on the Jasenička Reka River .
history
It is believed that the village was founded in the early 16th century, when it still had 35 houses. The name is said to come from a pastor (Serbian Pop, German pastor) who settled there.
The village's early residents are also believed to be from Kosovo , but there is no evidence of this.
