The 1933 season was the 13th season of the Primera División de Costa Rica , the highest Costa Rican soccer league. Eight teams took part. Heredia won the fourth championship title in a row, it was the 8th in the club's history.

Competition mode

  • The eight participating teams played in a single round (first leg only) in the mode everyone against everyone from the playoff participants.
  • The four first placed played a playoff round with three matches per team. The points obtained were added to those already obtained.

CS La Libertad won the cup competition, which was played in three rounds (quarter-finals, semi-finals, finals) before the start of the season, the later champions CS Herediano were eliminated in the quarter-finals against CS México.
