Primera División de Costa Rica 1941

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1941 season was the 21st season of the Primera División de Costa Rica , the highest Costa Rican soccer league. Seven teams took part. Alajuela won the championship for the third time in the club's history.

Competition mode

  • The Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR) was accepted into the league - without even being active once in the second or third division - through an association decision for which the Costa Rican president had spoken out. The team played under the name Universidad Nacional .
  • The seven participating teams played the master in a single round (a game against every other team).
  • The last placed should play a relegation game against the champions of the second division, but this did not happen (see below).
