Primera División de Costa Rica 1944

The 1944 season was the 24th season of the Primera División de Costa Rica , the highest Costa Rican soccer league. Seven teams took part. The Orión won the championship for the second time in the club's history.

Competition mode

  • The seven participating teams played the championship in a single round (return leg) in the mode everyone against everyone .
  • LD Alajuelense withdrew after only one game due to disagreements with the football association, the game played was not included in the table.

Cup competitions

Copa Gran Bretaña 1944

The 1944 Copa Gran Bretaña cup competition sponsored by the British Embassy was played before the start of the season. All first division teams as well as a second and a third division took part. LD Alajuelense won the final 4-3 against SG Española.

Torneo Relámpago 1944

Immediately before the start of the season, all the first division teams took part in the Torneo Relámpago 1944 , in which a game lasted only 20 minutes. LD Alajuelense won the final 2-1 against the UCR.
