The 1963 season was the 44th season of the Primera División de Costa Rica , the highest Costa Rican soccer league. Six teams took part. Uruguay de Coronado won the championship for the first time in the club's history.
After the relegation was held, it was decided to increase the Primera División. Thus Herediano remained in the first division; In addition to Nicolás Marín, the second and third placed in the second division, AD Limonense and AD Municipal Puntarenas, rose to the Primera División.
