The 1969 season was the 50th season of the Primera División de Costa Rica , the highest Costa Rican soccer league. Ten teams took part. Saprissa won the championship for the 9th time in the club's history.

Competition mode

  • The ten participating teams met each other three times in the mode everyone against everyone and thus played out the champions.
  • The last placed as well as the second last were relegated to the second division.

Remarks

  • In the 1969 season, AD Barrio México changed its name to Deportivo México.
