history

The Vorwerk Roggen , still called Rok before 1785 , belonged to the Pierkunowen manor district from its foundation (1935 to 1945 Perkunen, in Polish Pierkunowo). The mother community was also the district village , which belonged to the district of Lötzen in the Gumbinnen district (from 1905: " Allenstein district ") in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910 there were 60 residents in Rye.

In the year 1945 the small village was in consequence of the war with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish form of the name "Róg Pierkunowski". Today it is part of the Gmina Giżycko (rural community Lötzen ) in the powiat Giżycki ( Lötzen district ), before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

church

As a district of Pierkunowen (Perkunen), Roggen was parish in the Evangelical Parish Church of Lötzen in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic parish church of St. Bruno Lötzen in the Diocese of Warmia . Today Róg Pierkunowski belongs to the parish pw św. Kazimierza Królewicza in the city of Giżycko in the Diocese of Ełk (Lyck) of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland and to the Evangelical Parish in Giżycko in the Diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
