Raoul Petretta (born March 24, 1997 in Rheinfelden , Germany ) is an Italian football player . He has been playing in the first team of FC Basel since February 2017 and for its U-21 team.

Career

Raoul Petretta moved from SC Rheinfelden 03 to the youth department of FC Basel in 2003 and went through all junior levels . In February 2017 he was appointed to the first team by the U-21 team and made his debut in the top Swiss division on matchday 19 of the 2016/17 season against FC Lugano (4-0). He was in the starting line-up as a left full-back and played through for 90 minutes. After another outing against FC Thun , Petretta signed his first professional contract on February 16, 2017, which ran until the summer of 2020. By the end of the season he had made five appearances in the first team and won the Swiss with FC Basel Mastery . With the U-21 team, where he came to 14 missions, he reached third place in the Promotion League .

National team

Petretta has been in the squad of the Italian U-21 national team since 2018 , where he made his debut on May 25, 2018 under coach Luigi Di Biagio in the 3-2 defeat in the friendly against Portugal .
