Samuele Campo (born July 6, 1995 in Basel ) is a Swiss - Italian football player who is under contract with FC Basel .
Career
youth
Samuele Campo, son of a Swiss woman and an Italian, who moved to Switzerland for professional reasons at the age of 16, grew up in the city of Basel . At an indoor tournament in Kleinhüningen , he was discovered at the age of six by FC Basel , as he scored a few goals against them. At a young age he moved to the youth department of the city club, where he went through all junior levels up to U-21 for 15 years.

In the second half of the 2015/16 season Campo moved from the U-21s of FC Basel to the Challenge League for FC Lausanne-Sport . He made his debut on March 6, 2013 on the 23rd match day against Neuchâtel Xamax (1-1), when he came on in 66 minutes for Ming-yang Yang. By the end of the season he was a total of eleven times in the squad, including two in the starting line-up and three times as a substitute. At the end of the season, he celebrated promotion to the Super League with the Lausanne team . In the Vaudois he became a regular player in the following season , played in 34 of 36 games and scored six goals. Despite the 1: 2 defeat against FC Lugano on matchday 35 , they secured relegation early, as their direct rivals FC Vaduz only ended with a draw against FC Luzern away from home . Ultimately, the championship ended in 9th place.
After he played the first half of the 2017/18 season at FC Lausanne-Sport, he was signed by his parent club FC Basel during the winter break . He signed a contract valid until summer 2022.
National team
Samuele Campo went through some stages of the junior national teams of Switzerland. He last played in October 2016 for the Swiss U-21s in the last qualifying game for the U-21 European Championship 2017 against Norway . With a win you would have reached second place, which would have allowed you to participate in the play-offs. Switzerland lost the game 2-1 and Campo came on for Michael Frey in the 86th minute of the game . Since then, he has not returned to any other missions.
