Arthur Cabral , whose full name is Arthur Mendonça Cabral (born April 25, 1998 in Campina Grande ), is a Brazilian soccer player who has been under contract with the Swiss first division club FC Basel since August 2019 .

Arthur Cabral, who was born in Campina Grande , comes from the youth department of Ceará SC , an association from Fortaleza . He made his debut for the first team on July 22, 2015 at the age of 17 when he came on as a substitute in a final phase of a game of the Copa do Brasil 2015 against Tupi FC . In this game he scored the winning goal to a 2-1 victory, which secured his team promotion to the next round in the competition. He made his debut in Série B a month later (20th matchday) in a 4-3 home win against Paraná Clube when he was substituted on for Mazola in the closing stages . In October 2015 he switched to the youth academy of Palmeiras São Paulo on loan , but returned to Ceará the next year. From the 2017 season , Cabral was regularly used for the first team. In his third league game in the 3-2 away win against Brasil de Pelotas on June 10, 2017 (6th matchday), he scored for the first time for Ceará in the league. In 16 league games Cabral met four times in this game year and thus contributed to the rise of his club into the class Series A at. He scored seven goals in 31 league appearances in the 2018 season . With the club, Cabral won the Campeonato Cearense in 2017 and 2018 .

On November 30, 2018, Cabral's move to Palmeiras São Paulo was announced, where he signed a five-year contract on January 1, 2019. The transfer fee for the services of the striker was 1.15 million euros. He made his debut on March 23, 2019 in a 1-1 draw against Grêmio Novorizontino when he came on for Felipe Pires at half-time . In the 67th minute of the game, he scored to equalize Palmeiras. Until his premature departure, he was only used in one other game in the Campeonato Paulista, a league game.

On August 30, 2019 Arthur Cabral switched to a loan deal for the Swiss first division club FC Basel , where he was to spend the entire 2019/20 season . He made his debut on September 14 in a 3-0 away win against FC Meyrin in the 2019/20 Swiss Cup , when he played for the injured Kemal Ademi in the second half . He also replaced this in the next few encounters. On September 25 (8th matchday), he scored for the first time for FCB in a 4-0 home win against FC Zurich . Four days later he scored a brace in a 3-0 home win against FC Luzern . Cabral then took turns with Ademi on the starting grid. During the current season, FC Basel pulled out the purchase option of 2.2 million euros and gave it a three-year contract on July 1, 2020.

In August 2019, Cabral received his first nomination for the Brazilian U23 national team . On September 9, he made his debut in the 3-1 win over Chile for this selection.
