Ratingen 04/19 (official: Ratinger Spielvereinigung Germania 04/19 ) is a sports club from Ratingen in the Mettmann district . The first men's football team has been playing in the fifth-class Oberliga Niederrhein since its promotion in 2012 . The first women's soccer team played for two years in the third-class Regionalliga West and once took part in the DFB Cup .
history
The club goes back to FC Alemannia Ratingen , which was founded in 1904 . After joining TV Ratingen , which was founded in 1865, two years later, a football department was created here. In 1919 the football department of TV Ratingen merged with BV Vorwärts Ratingen, which was founded in 1908, to form TSV Ratingen . The football department became independent as SpVgg 04 Ratingen a year later as part of the clean divorce . In 1945 SpVgg adopted the name SG 04 Ratingen , but returned to the old name five years later. In 1965 the SpVgg merged with the ESV Germania Ratingen to form Ratingen 04/19.
Men's soccer
The first sporting climax was reached in the 1970s when the team was promoted to the then fourth-class national league in 1974 . After many years in the lower divisions, in 1997, after two consecutive promotions, he was promoted to the Lower Rhine Association for the first time . In the promotion season, the class could only just be held before the Ratinger were runner-up a year later. In 2000, the team was runner-up again and, after a decider win against VfL Rheinbach, they were promoted to the Oberliga Nordrhein .
Twelfth place in the 2000/01 promotion season was the sporting zenith of the club's history. More years of relegation battle followed, before relegation followed in 2004. The team continued to play in the association league with varying degrees of success before qualifying for the new, fifth-class Oberliga Niederrhein in 2012. After the promotion they always played for places 2 to 6 in the 2012/13 season . At the end of the season, the team reached fifth place with 59 points. In the 2013/14 season , Ratinger could not maintain this level and in the end even had to fight to stay in the league. In the end, they reached 15th place with 49 points. In the following season 2014/15 the team surprisingly reached third place. Since then you have been playing in the midfield of the league.
Women's soccer
The women's team from Ratingen 04/19 was promoted to the Regionalliga West in 2005 . After the eighth place in the promotion season, the team was withdrawn during the 2006/07 season. In the 2006/07 season , the team also took part in the DFB Cup, where the end came in the first round against the second division club 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig . For the first time since the game was withdrawn, a new women's team was registered in the Düsseldorf district league for the 2015/16 season.
