history

Rechtenbach celebrates 788 as the year it was founded.

On June 21, 1809, a spectacular robbery by ten robbers took place near Kleinrechtebach, among them Ludwig Funk , Johann Justus Dietz and Conrad Anschuh .

Territorial reform

In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , the merger of Großrechtebach and Kleinrechtebach on August 1, 1968 created the short-lived, independent municipality of Rechtenbach. Already on 31 December 1971, it lost its independence, since it with Vollnkirchen and Weidenhausen the new municipality Schwingbach together was. On January 1, 1977, by virtue of state law, this formed the large municipality of Hüttenberg with three other municipalities . For the district of Rechtenbach, a local district with a local advisory board and mayor was formed.

Territorial history and administration

The following list gives an overview of the territories in which Klein- and Großrechtebach were located and the administrative units to which they were subordinate: Klein-Rechenbach did not belong to the Hüttenbach office and had its own central court .
