Reiskirchen is a district of the municipality of Hüttenberg in the Lahn-Dill district in Central Hesse .

Geographical location

Reiskirchen is located in the eastern Hintertaunus ( Wetzlarer Hintertaunus ) in the Taunus Nature Park .

Adjacent villages are Schwalbach (southwest), Volpertshausen (northeast), Weidenhausen (northeast) and Niederwetz (south).

history

The village was first mentioned in 975 with the place name Richolueschiricha . From 1816 to 1976 Reiskirchen was part of the Wetzlar district . The church was mentioned as early as the 12th century.

Territorial reform

In the course of administrative reform in Hesse on 1 January 1977, the previously independent municipalities Reiskirchen, Hüttenberg, were Schwingbach and Volpertshausen powerful state law to the new greater community Hüttenberg together . For Reiskirchen, as for the other districts, a local district with a local advisory board and local councilor was formed.
