The Red Bull Air Race 2017 World Championship was the 12th season of a series of air races organized by Red Bull Air Race GmbH . Eight races were held in the 2017 racing season. The stations were Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), San Diego (USA), Chiba (Japan), Budapest (Hungary), Kazan (Russia), Porto (Portugal), Lausitz (Germany) and Indianapolis (USA).

Challenger Class

Every pilot in the Challenger Class will compete at least three races during the first seven races of the season. Only the first three results of each pilot count in the overall ranking, all other results are not counted. After the seventh race, the six best drivers qualify for the final.
