Afghanistan and Pakistan

The Resolution 647 of the UN Security Council is a resolution that the United Nations Security Council voted unanimously on 11 January 1990th Recalling resolution 622 (1988) and a letter from the Secretary-General on the settlement of the situation in Afghanistan , the Council approved the proposals in the letter on the United Nations Good Offices Mission in Afghanistan and Pakistan .

The Council then extended the mandate of the Mission by two months to 15 March 1990, as recommended by Secretary-General Javier Pérez de Cuéllar , and asked it to keep the Council informed of developments in the region.
