"The Security Council,

Recalling its resolutions 660 (1990) of 2 August 1990 and 661 (1990) of 6 August 1990,

highly concerned that Iraq 's" "comprehensive and eternal merger with Kuwait has stated

again Demanding that Iraq immediately and unconditionally withdraw all of its armed forces to the positions they were in on August 1, 1990,

determined to end the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait and to restore Kuwait’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity,

and determined to restore rule to the rightful government of Kuwait,

  1. Resolves that the annexation of Kuwait by Iraq, in whatever form and under whatever pretext, has no legal validity and is null and void;
  2. calls on all states, international organizations and specialized agencies not to recognize the annexation and to refrain from any measure and any traffic that could be interpreted as indirect recognition of the annexation;
  3. Demands that Iraq reverse its measures to annex Kuwait;
  4. Decides to keep this item on its agenda and to continue efforts to end the occupation as soon as possible. "
