The Resolution 671 of the UN Security Council is a resolution that the United Nations Security Council unanimously decided at its 2944th meeting on 27 September 1990th Having regard to resolutions 598 (1987), 619 (1988), 631 (1989), 642 (1989) and 651 (1990) and after considering a report by Secretary-General Javier Pérez de Cuéllar on the United Nations Military Observer Group, Iran-Iraq was decided the council said:

  • to extend the mandate of the United Nations Iran-Iraq Military Observer Group for a further two months until November 30, 1990,
  • to request the Secretary-General, after discussions with both parties in November, to report on the future of the observer group with his recommendations.
