The Resolution 656 of the UN Security Council is a resolution that the United Nations Security Council at its 2927th meeting on 8 June 1990 unanimously decided. Recalling resolution 654 (1990) and reviewing a report by the Secretary-General , the Council decided to endorse the tasks of monitoring the ceasefire, demobilization and separation of Contra units and other resistance forces in Nicaragua until June 29, 1990 extend.

The resolution calls on all parties involved to maintain and increase the pace of demobilization so that it can be completed by June 29, 1990. He also asked the Secretary-General to report to the Council by then. The Secretary-General informed the Council on 29 June that the demobilization had been completed the day before and that the United Nations Observer Group in Central America had provided assistance in the conflict in Nicaragua.
