The UN Security Council Resolution 648 is a resolution that the United Nations Security Council voted unanimously on 31 January 1990th Recalling previous resolutions on the matter and considering the report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), which was endorsed in resolution 426 (1978), the Council decided to extend the mandate of UNIFIL for a further six months to to be extended to July 31, 1990.
The Council then reaffirmed the mandate of the Force and requested the Secretary-General to report on progress made in implementing Resolutions 425 (1978) and 426 (1978).
