The Red Castle is a castle in Jagsthausen in the Heilbronn district . It was built roughly in the period from 1572 to 1590 by a branch line of the Lords of Berlichingen .

The castle is located on the site of the former Jagsthausen Roman fort and in the immediate vicinity of the seat of the Lords of Berlichingen, the " Götzenburg ". It was built between 1572 and 1590 by Hans Reinhard von Berlichingen. Inside the castle there are still wall paintings from the time construction began, while the castle was supplemented by a facade and a mansard roof towards the village in the 18th century . At the end of the 19th century, the seat of the Berlichingen rent office and the rent office man's apartment were in the castle. Today there is a restaurant there.
