Castle basket is an Outbound medieval Spur castle on 260 m above sea level. NN in Korb , a district of Möckmühl in the Heilbronn district in northern Baden-Württemberg .
history
A noble family from Korb is first documented in 1103, when Bucco de Corba appears among the witnesses of a donation to the Hirsau monastery . After his death, his property fell to his brother Sigeloch, who lived in Grettstadt near Schweinfurt and who bequeathed twelve farms in Korb to the Comburg monastery from this inheritance .
For a long time there was uncertainty about the location of the manor house in Korb, until the construction of a new morgue a few meters southwest of the church in Korb, which lies on the lower spur of the mouth of the Fuchsklinge running into the Ortsbach Hergstbach , found previously unknown remains of the wall. They were located under a hill that overlooks the cemetery surrounding the church. It was about two meters thick, double-shell masonry made of mortared blocks with a filling of rubble and mortar. The southwest corner of the masonry was temporarily exposed for investigation by the State Monuments Office, and later it was covered with earth again.
Presumably, the walls found are the remains of a small hilltop castle (moth). It is still unknown whether the building was actually the mansion of the local aristocracy, which is documented around 1100, as another castle stable at Katzenbuckel is believed to be one kilometer south of Korb.
