The SG Pforzheim / Eutingen ( Sportgemeinschaft Pforzheim / Eutingen eV ) is a handball club from Pforzheim in the north-west of Baden-Württemberg . The first men's team of the club is currently playing in the 3rd League South Season .

Club history

The SG Pforzheim / Eutingen was founded in 2007. The club sees itself as the successor to a handball community of the two clubs TV Eutingen and TB Pforzheim; these original “mother associations” were both founded in 1879. Their syndicate was decided in 1996, but dissolved again in 2007. Since then the association has existed independently, but in close partnership with TV Eutingen; all members of the SG are also members of TV Eutingen. The Badischer Handball-Verband approved this special form of club partnership in 2008, which paved the way for all SG teams to start in their respective divisions under the club name SG Pforzheim / Eutingen.

Men's team

The original syndicate TB Pforzheim / TV Eutingen was quickly successful: promotion to the Baden League in 1999 was followed two years later in 2001 by promotion to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg. In 2004, the SG achieved their greatest success to date: the first men's team rose to the then regional league - after a promising fifth place in the final table of the southern season in the 2004/05 season, relegation followed in the next season.

The promotion to the 3rd division succeeded in 2010, but even then the class could not be held. The SG failed in the 2010/11 season just under the intensified relegation conditions after the league structural reform of the DHB in the first season of this new third-highest division of German handball. In 2016, the team managed to return to the 3rd division. After only one season, SG Pforzheim / Eutingen was relegated again.

youth

The biggest success in the youth field was the relay victory of the male A-youth in the southern season of the A-youth Bundesliga in the 2010/11 season .
