Saretschnoje ( Russian Заречное , German Ramsen , Dopsattel or Liepnicken ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad ( Koenigsberg area (Prussia) ), in which three formerly independent localities are incorporated. It belongs to the Niwenskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Niwenskoje (Wittenberg) ) in the Bagrationovsk district ( Prussian Eylau district ).

Geographical location

Zarechnoye is located in the northwest of Bagrationovsk Raion . The extensive area is traversed by the Frisching (Russian: Prochladnaja) and bordered in the south by the Stradick (Kornewka) river . The Russian trunk road R 516 (former German Berlinka ) runs through the west of the local area, which can be reached via the exit Kornewo (Zinten) . The nearest train station is Swetloje (Kobbelbude ) on the railway line from Kaliningrad (Königsberg) to Mamonowo (Heiligenbeil) for onward travel to Poland (formerly the Prussian Eastern Railway ).

Until 1945

Today's local area of ​​Saretschnoje comprises three formerly independent localities that belonged to two different districts before 1945: Ramsen and Dopsattel were in the area of the Königsberg district (1939–1946: Samland district), while Lipenicken belonged to the Preussisch Eylau district . Both districts were located in the Königsberg administrative district of the Prussian province of East Prussia .

Saretschnoje / Ramsen

The former Ramsen is 16 kilometers south of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) . Before 1945 it consisted of a few large farms. Between 1874 and 1945 Ramsen was incorporated into the Mahnsfeld district (now in Russian: Polewoje). In 1910 the small rural community had 70 inhabitants.

In 1928 the Ramsens area expanded to include the Hinterwalde manor district (no longer existing), which was incorporated. The population increased to 164 by 1933 and was 149 in 1939.

In 1945 Ramsen came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia and was given the Russian name Saretschnoje in 1950 .

Saretschnoje (Oktjabrskoje) / Dopsattel

The manor village, known as Dopsattel before 1945, is located 17 kilometers south of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) am Frisching (Russian: Prochladnaja). How Ramsen belonged to the Gutsbezirk Dopsattel 1874-1945 for District Mahnsfeld . In 1910 47 people lived here.

On September 30, 1928 the manor districts Dosattel, Karplauken and Milgen (both no longer exist) came together to form the new rural community of Dopsattel. The population was 117 in 1933 and 173 in 1939.

As a result of the Second World War , Dopsattel also came to the Soviet Union in 1945 and was given the Russian name Oktjabrskoje in 1950 .

Saretschnoje (Ostrownoje) / Liepnicken

The former Liepnicken called rural community located 18 kilometers south of Kaliningrad (Konigsberg) and 25 kilometers northwest of the former county town Bagrationovsk (Preußisch Eylau) . On May 7, 1874, the place was incorporated into the district of Sollnicken (today Russian: Medowoje), which existed until 1945. In 1910, 140 inhabitants were registered in Liepnicken.

On September 30, 1928, the rural community expanded to include the manor district of Kusitten (no longer existing), which was incorporated. The population rose to 184 by 1933 and was 195 in 1939.

In 1945 Liepnicken also came to the Soviet Union . In 1950 the place was given the Russian name Ostrownoje .

Since 1946

The three neighboring villages Saretschnoje (Ramsen) , Oktjabrskoje (Dopsattel) and Ostrownoje (Liepnicken) belonged to the Vladimirovsky Soviet (Dorfsovjet Vladimirovo (Tharau) ) within the Bagrationovsk district ( Prussian Eylau district ) until 2009 . Since 1993 all three places have had the common Russian name Saretschnoje , so they have been combined into one place.

In 2008/2009 a structural and administrative reform took place in the Kaliningrad Oblast , through which Zarechnoye was incorporated into the newly formed Niwenskoje selskoje posselenije (rural municipality Niwenskoje (Wittenberg) ) and since then has been classified as a "settlement" (Russian: possjolok) in this rural municipality is.
