German Chess League 2008/09 (women)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2008/09 season was the 18th season of the women's chess Bundesliga . SC Bad Königshofen , SK Lehrte and Rotation Pankow were promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga . While Bad Königshofen achieved relegation, Lehrte and Rotation Pankow ended up on the relegation places together with Weiß-Blau Allianz Leipzig ; However, since the USV TU Dresden withdrew its team from the Bundesliga after the season, Lehrte remained first class. The defending champion OSG Baden-Baden (which was still called OSC Baden-Baden in the previous year) had already been confirmed as the German champions two rounds before the end and only suffered a defeat in the last round.
