The 1969 Women's World Chess Championship was held in Moscow and Tbilisi in the spring of 1969 .

To determine the challenger, the candidate tournament with 18 participants took place in Subotica in September and October 1967 .

World championship fight
The world championship match was held from April 8 to May 18, 1969 in Tbilisi and Moscow . The main referee was Nina Hrušková-Bělská from Czechoslovakia , supported by Tamara Strandstrem (Soviet Union). Given the superiority of defending champion Nona Gaprindashvili, 13 games were again enough to achieve the necessary 8½ points.
