2000 World Women's Chess Championship

The women's chess world championship in 2000 was held for the first time in the knockout system and ended with reigning world champion Xie Jun winning the title again . The venue for the World Cup was Delhi . The main judge was Zsuzsa Verőci from Hungary .

With the exception of the finals, the players met in mini-matches over two games each. In the event of a tie, games with a shorter reflection period were extended. The numbers before or after the player's name in the following table indicate their position in the seeding list. 61 players took part, so the top three players had a bye in the first round.
